A magazine spokeswoman said Roberts, 37, gave birth around 3 a.m. PST (6 a.m. EST) to Phinnaeus Walter and Hazel Patricia.

Aly, that’s what I had heard too. Walter and Patricia are supposedly family names though.
Sarita, thanks, but that info is already in the post.

Thank goodness it’s Hazel Patricia and NOT Hazel Nut — You know how wacky celebs can be with baby names.
November 28th, 2004 at 8:44 pm
I LOVE those names!!! I love her too! How wonderful that she now has a boy and a girl, at the same time. I am so happy for her!
November 28th, 2004 at 9:47 pm
I like Hazel. It’s unusual but I once considered the name also. But WHAT is the boys name. How do you think up a name like that?
November 28th, 2004 at 10:53 pm
Oh, my, but aren’t they terribly early? I wonder how long until they leave the NICU. And I can’t believe we won’t have more pregnant pictures of Julia…seems like we could watch people like Kate Hudson and Courteney Cox get bigger every week while Julia has been so inconspicuous - no belly baring shirts for her!
November 28th, 2004 at 11:56 pm
They’re only 6 weeks early-that’s not out of the ordinary for twins. Plus she’s been on bedrest. She said in an interview last week that they were a little over 6 pounds each already, so I’m sure they’re fine. The twins I nanny for were 3 pounds when they were born (also 6 weeks early) and they’re nine months now and fine.
November 29th, 2004 at 10:50 am
Either she didn’t know how much her twins weighed or they have been lying about her due date. I have 3 kids and none of them weighed 6 lbs at 34 weeks! No way twins would weigh that at such an early gestation. I imagine they must have told everyone a different due date to keep the press of their backs! I know I would have.
November 29th, 2004 at 12:20 pm
Actually, it was People that initially said the due date was around January. Her spokeswoman only said that she was having twins and that twins run in the family. In fact, she was on Oprah (taped in early October) and said she was seven months along. She never lied about the due date, she just didn’t correct the press.

Phinnaeus? WTF!
November 29th, 2004 at 8:59 pm
What is she thinking about those names. Her kids will be teazed to no end. Why on earth would she name those kids that. Come on Julie, change there names before its too late.
November 29th, 2004 at 10:44 pm
Why would her kids be teased? I’m sure they will go to a high class private school where all the other kids with money will have unique names also. They will be fine - and along with the next generation of celebrity kids, they will fit right in with baby Apple, and Ryder.
November 29th, 2004 at 10:53 pm
I agree, leave the babies names alone. Sure, they are not my favorite names, but they are unique. I will give Julia credit for that.
November 30th, 2004 at 7:55 am
parents have the right to give their children whatever names they want to and the children to live with it for the rest of their lives unless they have the bucks to change it well celebs babies have it. dont they?

Congrats to Julia and her husband! i’m positive that she could care less, but i love both of the babies names. Phineas and Hazel are two of my favorite names and the fact that both middle names are significant to her is very touching.

I know there only names, but I think too they’re ridiculous, especially the boys name, oh, well I’m sure they’re adorable anyway!
December 1st, 2004 at 8:37 am
At least they did’nt choose another “fruit” name!

Okay, enough already!
Does anybody really care about Julia & her twin now. My God! Everywhere I look I see “Julia’s Twins”.
My God!
December 1st, 2004 at 3:07 pm
Well Becky, this is a celebrity baby blog, so I hope you would expect it here, LOL. But I agree that the media has really picked this up. It was on the front page of CNN.com!

I happened to be watching Access Hollywood today (home sick) and they did a story containing what gifts Julia received. I’m trying to remember the name of the slings she got — do you have any info? I went to the show website, but there’s no mention…
Did anyone else happen to see the show?
December 2nd, 2004 at 12:02 pm
Did anyone read the tabloid story (I think it was in the Star) about how Julia was planning a waterbirth at home with midwives? I was so excited about that when I read it…and so disappointed that it didn’t end up happening.
December 2nd, 2004 at 9:09 pm
I’d be surprised that she could find a midwife who was willing to a)deliver twins and b)do a waterbirth. My friend had to trick her midwife into letting her deliver in the water and my midwife pulled me out of my bath when I delivered my son this year. I was lucky just to get to deliver at home after all the malpractice suits and such in my area.

Man, people can be so critical!! Let Julia and her husband have their moment. Yeah, that’s a “different” name, but it’s THEIR name. It’s unique. There’s too many common names out there. Plus both of the babies have those names for special reasons personal to them. I hope they don’t consider changeing their names later. That would be an insult to Julia and her husband. They’re doing their thing, don’t hate! You do your thing girl, congratulations and have fun! Now who named their baby apple? That’s cute. that’s right up there with the name cinnamon.
December 6th, 2004 at 4:47 pm
I want to comment on her “lying” about her due date and the babies’ weights. I too am a mother of twins who were 8 weeks premature and had been on complete bed rest and my twins weighed in at 5lb 3oz and 5lb 9 1/2 oz with slightly premature lungs. Like Julia I am tall; 6 feet to be exact. My OBGYN told me that the body accomodates multiple births by giving them more nutrients just like you supply more breast milk to accomodate 2 babies. Get your facts straight before you criticize !!So yes you can have 6 pound premature babies !!!

Congratulations Julia

Congratulations Julia
Hope all is going well for your family and good luck to you in the future

Congratulations Julia,
I hope that you enjoy your new babies. Good Luck with them as toddlers, and if you ever need a nanny I will be right here.
