After two years of trying, The Bachelorette's Ryan and Trista Sutter are expecting their first child. Trista is 14 weeks along, with the baby due the third week of August. Sounds like they won't know the sex, at least for awhile - Trista plans to hold off on finding out until the summer.
Of the pregnancy, she says,
We are so happy after two years of trying...I've had horrendous morning sickness, but everyone says that is a sign of a healthy pregnancy.
Ryan says that he is 'so happy to finally be a dad.'
Ryan, 32, and Trista, 34, met while filming their reality show in 2002, and have now been married for three years.
Ryan found out about the baby at the airport on December 18th, after returning from a mountaineering trip in Argentina. Trista says,
He was completely windburned and his lips were dry. We had a three-hour drive back to our home from the airport and I couldn't wait to tell him, so I pulled him aside to a quiet part of the baggage claim area and told him there.

This is so exciting! I love them both (but especially Ryan) and am so glad they finally got their wish!
I think its wonderful that they're still together and now expecting a baby!
That's so exciting. Congratulations to them! I can't imagine having to try for 2 years, though I know some couple try so much longer! I was just thinking about her the other day and wondering if maybe it had happened yet. Yay for them! That's going to be one good looking kid.
As soon as I read the title, the first word out of my mouth was "Aww." I love Trista and Ryan and are so happy they are still together and happy after seeing practically every reality TV couple break up. And everytime I read an article about them or saw them on TV they talked about wanting children so this is very exciting. Hope everything goes well with them both...keep us updated.
Yay!!! Congratulations!! I remember watching Trista on the Bachelorette and then her beautiful wedding to Ryan on TV. What a dream come true for them!
whoa! that is so weird!! I was just thinking about them the other day, wondering how they were doing and if they were ever going to have kids, and now here we are!
I'm so excited and happy for them! they are a beautiful couple and seem to really love each other!
Yay! I've been wondering when they were going to have children. I think they're a great couple.
I suffered with very severe morning sickness (Hyper emesis) through my entire pregnancy. I had to be hospitalized and have an IV at home because I couldn't even keep down water and saltine crackers without the help of medicine. As horrible as it was, the thought of my healthy baby kept me going everyday. Many people wonder why I would ever want to go through it again, but I can't wait to have more children!
I hope at 14 weeks, Trista is almost over her morning sicknees though!
Yeah!! I am sooo excited to hear this! I love them both! Can't wait to hear if it a boy or girl. Either way I am sure it will be a beautiful child!!
I just loved them on the show, and I'm so glad they're finally having a baby - How wonderful and exciting for them! :) I hope they have a happy and healthy child!
congrats!! i know i had heard how much they wanted to start a family! Thats wonderful!
Congrats to the happy couple!
I had severe "morning" sickness that lasted all day, from week 5 until week 17. I lost 10 lbs., and was dehydrated. But then the nausea disappeared and everything was great.
I used lemons and lemon slices alot - every time I felt nauseous or there was a smell around that was making me ill (I had a heightened sense of smell) I would take a whiff of cut lemons. I even carried lemon slices in a ziploc bag in my purse! The lemons covered up the other smells and made me feel human again. I also ate lemon drops when my mouth was dry. Try it, it really works!
My mouth was too dry to eat saltines (they made me sick too) so I discovered something that worked better for me - Sara Lee frozen poundcake. It has a mild taste, and is moist. I would eat it for breakfast, it made it possible for me to eat other things afterwards.
I also used those wristbands developed for motion sickness, with the little accupressure dot on them. They only worked for a few weeks, early on. I wore them everywhere though, like my security blanket!
I'm so happy for them! I know it was important to both of them to become parents, and I wish them all the best! A happy, healthy pregnancy, delivery, and new baby.
I'd been wondering about them for awhile. Congratulations to Ryan and Trista!
Unfortunately I am still experiencing morning sickness at 17 weeks along. The only thing I can really do is watch what I eat and try to rest as much as possible. By giving my body a little break I usually feel OK enough to eat and actually keep it down.
Congrats to them! Let's hope they last.
As for morning sickness, I didn't experience in either of my pregnancies. I was one of the lucky few, I guess!!
I also responded with an imediate AWWWW. I love them too and was just thinking of them. I am so glad that they went off somewhere on their own and have a normal life. I can't believe more celebrities don't do that. Anyway my morning sickness was terrible for 5 months. The thing that took the edge off the naseausness for me was Starburst candy. I feel like they were so strong they distracted my mind and mouth from throwing up. I recommend them....
I've never been pregnant but, for anyone who might be suffering from morning sickness, many people swear by ginger pills. Mythbusters even did an episode about nausea remedies and the ginger pills were the only thing that truly worked.
Sea bands for motion sickness worked like a charm. Before I finally wore them, warm coca cola and lemons worked. Morning sickenss is a great sign for a healthy baby along with eating healthy. I had a healthy 9.5 lb baby :-).
Congrats to the happy couple!
Yay. I was glad when I read this news early this morning. What a cute baby they'll make.
I'm currently 6 weeks along and into my second week of morning sickness. It's pretty bad but my doc has given me Diclectin for nasuea..it helps but I still feel like the boat could flip at any moment. LOL.
Aww, congrats to them!! I remember watching Trista on the Bachelor and I remember how upset I was that she wasn't picked. Then I remember watching the first Bachelorette and I was so happy to see her again. Ryan was the guy I wanted her to pick and when she did, I was ecstatic Lol. I love the fact that they've stayed together, unlike MOST of the reality tv couples out there. I'm happy that they're now having a baby and when that baby is born, he or she will be gorgeous :)
Congrats! I bet it's a boy!
At 14 weeks the MS should start to ease up...good luck with a healthy pregnancy!!!
Read up on Dr. Sears' books...they're a life saver!!! ;)
