More Eden and Savannah Mahoney

Although US residents officially met Marcia Cross' fraternal twin daughters Eden and Savannah in People magazine last week, Canadians get their turn this week as Hello! Canada publishes additional photos and highlights from the interview.

On fertility treatments: We did in vitro fertilization. I don't mind saying that because I don't want to put out the notion that it's really easy to get pregnant. But we got lucky.

On nursing: My favorite thing is when I breastfeed them both at the same time. That picture, that feeling, is just bliss for me. I don't even want to talk; I'm in heaven. Basically I'm shirtless most of the day because I'm just one big breast! I feed the twins simultaneously, which took six weeks to master. I'm very proud of myself. I have about an hour between feedings. Usually I have to pump after they go to sleep [for bottles when I'm out of the house].

On marriage and motherhood later in life: I thought life was passing me by and I was really just devastated about it. So the fact that my life sorted of turned around in the last two years is just a miracle to me. Everyday is a gift for me. I think if I'd had children and gotten married in my 30s, when I wanted to, it just wouldn't be the miracle that it is to me now.

Biggest surprise about motherhood: As much as I wanted to be a mother, I had no idea how blissful it would be and how in love I would be. It's all been a surprise. You want something, but you don't really know what those feelings are going to be. And it's just been more than I ever could have imagined.

Advice she never got but wishes she did: No one ever told me, 'You'll be so happy to see them every time!' I miss them every time they're asleep. Then they finally wake up and I'm always so happy to see them. So that's been a surprise.

On her girls: Savannah is very easygoing and likes to eat and yawn. I call her my Buddha baby. And Eden, she's so cute. She's more awake and alert and curious about everything. It's hard to find words. They're just two different girls. They look completely different.

Balding babies: They had a little bit of dark hair, but it's kind of falling out. Poor Eden went bald.

I'm always so grateful when celebrities are honest about using assisted reproductive technology. As someone who has also gone through fertility treatment (and is now 5 mos. pregnant - yay!) I can say that it really helps to create a sense of community and support around what can be a very isolating and painful issue.

These photos are just as beautiful as the ones featured in People magazine. I can't even pick a favorite, they're all a favorite of mine for different reasons. :)
