Anthony LaPaglia talks raising his daughter Bridget
Australian actor, Anthony LaPaglia, (Without a Trace) talked to Woman's Day last week about raising his daughter, Bridget, 4, with wife, Gia Carides (My Big Fat Greek Wedding). Here are the kid and parent related highlights;
His love for his daughter is different to that which he has for his wife. Anthony expains;
Having a child is an entirely different experience. I mean, I always say this as a gag, but it’s kind of true that when I walk in the door my daughter is the only person in the world who is genuinely thrilled to see me. Gia’s happy to see me but it’s not that genuine, unbridled kind of enthusiasm that I’m home. We’ve talked about the fact, that despite us being together for 14 years, we still love each other tremendously, but it doesn’t even come close - and we don’t say that is a disparaging way - to what we individually feel for our daughter. It touches a whole other part of your heart that you didn’t even know you had.
Does he feel more responsible, now that he is a parent?
There’s a sense of responsibility towards a child, especially when they’re a baby, because everything that you put out there goes into their little heads and hearts, so I have a tremendous sense of responsibility.
