Sophie Falkiner on balancing work and family life
Australian TV personality and host of the new entertainment news show, Confidential, Sophie Falkiner, spoke about family and work commitments in the Foxtel Magazine monthly issue. Sophie is married to Tony Thomas and has one daughter, Isabella, 2.
On work and guilt.
Someone told me once, being a mum you never stop worrying and never stop feeling guilty. And never a more true word has been spoken. It’s hard to find the balance. Hosting ‘Confidential’ is perfect for me though, not only can I spend three days a week at home with Bella, I also get to keep up with celebrity news when I’m at work!
Confidential will not be about gossip but rather as correct information as possible about celebrities. Sophie has learnt a lesson from this herself.
Some of the things I’ve read about myself have just been totally untrue, so I just turn a blind eye to them. I remember reading a couple of times I was pregnant when I wasn’t - and thought ‘oh no, they think I’ve had too many roast dinners!’ and I said to my husband at dinner one night, ‘better not have a glass of wine darling I am pregnant after all!
