Rachel Luttrell’s pregnancy written into Stargate Atlantis
Stargate Atlantis actress Rachel Luttrell, who is expecting her first child, will have her pregnancy written into the show’s fourth season storyline. The producers have said that this will be an exciting series and obstacle for her character.
[The producers are] golden. It’s not only the fact that she’s going to have this darker side, but also the fact that she’s going to be faced with taking care of someone who may be the last of her kind. There are so many interesting colors that are now coming out.
She has been shooting roles out of sequence so that she can perform action sequences. Rachel hopes that she will have less physical strain put on her as the pregnancy progresses.
From the get-go, this has been the most physical season for me thus far. It’s almost like they were, ‘Oh, my God, let’s get it in all at once.’ I guess at this point forward they probably will [cut back some].

I’m a big, big fan of that show, and when rumours said that RL might be pregnant I was very happy for her! She’s so sweet and beautiful! We also heard the first rumours about how her pregnancy will be written into the show, can’t wait to see it!
Only a few weeks ago there was a press conference where you could see her baby belly already.
Stargate Atlantis will need a big kindergarten on set soon. Rachel will have a baby, Jason Momoa just became a Dad, Joe Flanigan has three sons, and David Hewlett might become a father this year, too. He hasn’t announced it officially yet, but a good friend of his mentioned it at a convention, and David also hinted at it, and he cancelled conventions in autumn. There’s also a new pic of him and his fiancee on his website, and she does look pregnant. Can’t wait to hear an announcement!

Sarah, i was just thinking the same thing lol.
Although you missed Kavan Smith (Lorne), his wife was due around the same time Joe’s 3rd son was born. I wasnt aware of that bit of David Hewlett news, cant wait to see if its true.
I too love Atlantis and am eager for its return even with my skepticism at them removing Torri from the cast too. Looking to see the storylines regarding Rachel’s pregnancy.

Oh yes, Kavan, right, I forgot to mention him! Do you know if the baby is a boy or a girl?
David Nykl has kids, too, but I guess they’re not that little anymore.
Amanda Tapping also has a little daughter (Olivia), but somehow I don’t think of her as a part of the SGA cast yet, because I’m not exactly a Carter fan and didn’t like that particular change. So I forgot to mention her, too.
Concerning David Hewlett, I’m a big fan of him and his work. There’s speculation that his fiancee Jane might be pregnant for quite a few months now. She suddenly wore these maternity tops, David cancelled the Australia cons in the fall because of ‘a project’ that might take a lot of time, when asked about his fav role he said that he’s looking forward to being a Dad one day, D&J postponed their wedding to early 2008 (they wanted to get married in the fall), and their friend Paul McGillion said at a con in June that they’re expecting a baby. He said “next month” then, but that can’t be right, because Jane didn’t look pregnant at all when I met her in February, so she can’t be that far along yet. She and David have also just been on vacation on Hawaii, don’t think they’d have flown there so shortly before her due date. She also doesn’t look that big in the holiday pic David posted on his website now. Bad thing is, he just posted a very small pic (on purpose?), one cannot see much at all, but she does look pregnant to me.
Well, we might know for sure if she’s pregnant or not after next weekend. David will be at Comic Con then, and normally Jane accompanies him on conventions, and this time there’ll even be a signing for their film, so I guess she’ll be there, too. If yes, then we’ll surely get reports and pictures pretty fast.
I’d be so happy for them! They’re such a lovely couple!

I’d just like to say I love the show and the fact there is a “baby boom” lots of kids, lol. I just had my little girl last week and named her Rachel Teyla.

I personally think she could’ve waited a bit before she got pregnant. Whereas before, she looked fit and nimble, now she is but a reminder of why women are unreliable with respect to jobs and carreers once they breed. The whole story line had to be re-written so that it could fit a round belly animal into it. Bad idea.

I love Stargate Atlantis, My 2 fav charictors are Tayla and Ronan, I like Ronan cause hes HOT!!! Rachell you are going to make a great mother! I also heard that your pregnancy was writen into the script, so cool! just lay back on the Warrior Princess!!
