For some reason I bet she had a boy. They just look like the type of parents to have boys. Whatever she did have, we hope that the baby, and Trista are healthy and happy!! Congrats!!

Ooh…I want to know more! Can’t decide between boy or girl…seems like everyone’s having boys lately…maybe she’ll usher in a new girl trend! Congratulations to them!

July 27th, 2007 at 12:14 pm
I know the post earlier said she wasnt due til august 23… i wonder if because of the diabetes her BP got too high… nevertheless, all the best to them for a healthy baby- they are such a wonderful couple and trista looks fabulous- i’m 4 1/2 months now and hope i look as good as her at 8 months!!

July 27th, 2007 at 12:32 pm
Great news! Congratulations to Ryan and Trista.
Ok I am dying to know about Bridgett Moynahan (sp?) and Baby Brady. Has anyone heard?
Sarah’s note: Bridget is still pregnant. Her due date is not until next week.
July 27th, 2007 at 12:33 pm
I say it’s a boy. I am surprised they delivered her 3 weeks early though. She didn’t seem too big.
July 27th, 2007 at 12:34 pm
i’m feeling a girl!
July 27th, 2007 at 12:38 pm
I’m thinking she had a boy.

She is such a girly person! I don’t see her with a boy.. so I’ll bet for a girl!
I can’t wait to see the baby! I love them!
Congradulation to the new parents!
July 27th, 2007 at 12:43 pm
I think she had a girl..
July 27th, 2007 at 12:47 pm
Congrats on their healthy baby. But please don’t let the anti-c-section forces take over. I’m sure Trista, Ryan and her doctors made the choice that was best for Maxwell.
July 27th, 2007 at 12:49 pm
Wow! I was totally surprised to see that! Didn’t she have 3 more weeks to go? Wow! And he’s so little, 5 lbs 2 oz. My godson was 5-10 and I thought he was tiny. I really like the name too! Max(well) Austin! SOOOO CUTE!
Congratulation to Trista & Ryan!
July 27th, 2007 at 12:54 pm
aww…congrats to trista and ryan on the birth of their baby boy. maxwell austin is a beautiful name. and what a tiny baby! especially since she had gestational diabetes. my babies were never that little! good luck to the new mommy and daddy!!!!!
July 27th, 2007 at 1:03 pm
Congrats to Trista and Ryan! My son was born almost 4 weeks early as well and weighed 5 pounds 7 oz.
He’s now a healthy 14 pound 4 month old!
July 27th, 2007 at 1:04 pm
How exciting for them! And yet another boy…lol It seems to be a trend lately…so happy for them–they deserve all the happiness in the world. I love the name and can’t wait to see pictures of the little guy =)) Congrats to Trista and Ryan and welcome to the world Maxwell =))
July 27th, 2007 at 1:24 pm
aww, congrats to them!! I can’t wait to see pics
I hope mommy and baby are doing well
July 27th, 2007 at 1:30 pm
I am so happy for them, especially having watched their love story evolve on TV. I almost feel like a member of my family has fulfilled her dream to become a mom. I hope the complications were not life threatening and that all are well. And what a great name. Love to Trista, Ryan and baby Max.
July 27th, 2007 at 1:30 pm
5lbs is so tiny, I hope he’s ok! The name Maxwell is good, not weird but not too common either.
July 27th, 2007 at 1:31 pm
That’s a tiny baby. I know she had GD, but I think her doctors must have misjudged how big he would be and took the baby out too early. At that size they could have just induced instead. Oh well, at least he’s over 5lbs, which is healthy enough.
Congrats to the Sutters and GL with the c-section recovery. As a former c-section mom myself, I know how awful that recovery can be. I can’t wait to see pictures.
Sarah’s note: We heard they did induce yesterday am and her labor stalled.
July 27th, 2007 at 1:39 pm
Yay! Congrats to Trista, Ryan and lil’ baby Max! LOVE the name Max. I bet he’s a cutie.
Totally thought she was having a girl! It’s boy season!!!
July 27th, 2007 at 2:00 pm
Congratulations to Trista and Ryan! Blessings and many happy years to the new family!
July 27th, 2007 at 2:02 pm
do we know why they induced?
I’m not surprised to see that, despite the doctor being sure she would have a big baby, she actually had a small one.
doctors are sometimes either wrong or they will say that to push for inductions or c/s that will amke their schedules easier.
Sarah’s note: She was admitted to the hospital in pain and her complications were increasing, so they decided to proceed with the birth.
July 27th, 2007 at 2:14 pm
Aww he is small, I just knew she was having a boy same thing with naomi watts. Cute name they gave him. My bet is it’s a boy for salma hayek too.
July 27th, 2007 at 2:14 pm
Congrats to them! I imagine they’re ecstatic over the birth of their long awaited baby. I love his name by the way, Maxwell Alston is a wonderful balance between conventional and unorthodox names. I’m sure he’s adorable! Best of luck to Trista, Ryan, and little Maxwell, I wish them both a speedy recovery.

Anyone questioning her early delivery and c-section
It says she had preeclampsia (dangerously high BP) which can turn into a life threatening condition for both mother and baby. The only cure for preeclampsia is delivery of the baby and, again, it is a very serious condition that can lead to death if untreated. Her MD did exactly what was responsible…deliver the baby. 3-4 weeks early is still safe and much better than allowing the pregnancy to advance.
If labor stalls, they still need to get the baby out (which is why c-sections are sometimes performed).
I just hope that people think before they post this time. I know we all love Trista and sometimes we don’t post as considerately as we would actually speak to someone.
July 27th, 2007 at 2:28 pm
what a great name - so happy for them!
July 27th, 2007 at 3:23 pm
Congrats to both!!
My son was born 6 weeks early for the same reasons. He was only 4lbs. 5oz. at birth and he’s a completely healthy 30lb. 2 and a half year old now!
Maxwell is going to do great!
July 27th, 2007 at 5:07 pm
I am so glad to hear all is well and he is here safely! I can’t wait to see pictures of him. I bet he is beautiful! Congrats Ryan and Trista!!
July 27th, 2007 at 5:44 pm
I myself had preeclampsia and was in the hospital for 4 days so it’s extremly dangerous.. My son was born 4 weeks early also… Weighing only 5 pounds… He is now a 30 pound 2 and a half year old…
July 27th, 2007 at 5:51 pm
Congrats!! Shocked to hear that it’s a little boy since I seriously thought for sure they were going to have a little girl, but anyway, I am happy to hear that Trista and little Max are both healthy and in good condition although the little guy came quite a bit early. Best of luck to Trista and Ryan and the beginning of their journey of parenthood!!
July 27th, 2007 at 5:56 pm
I had pre-eclampsia, too, and had to deliver early. Luckily did not end up with a c-section, though! I’m so happy for Trista and Ryan. I bet their little boy is gorgeous!
July 27th, 2007 at 5:57 pm
I’m glad the baby is here and healthy - pre-eclampsia is scary.
However, it doesn’t sound like the diabetes was a big problem. Usually if gestational diabetes is an issue a baby born a month early will weigh around the 8 lb mark. I’m glad Trista’s diabetes wasn’t severe.
July 27th, 2007 at 6:41 pm
Another wee one born recently! It must have been a scary time for Trista and Ryan what with the preeclampsia and gestational diabetes. Best wishes to the new family!
July 27th, 2007 at 7:09 pm
CONGRATULATIONS!
July 27th, 2007 at 8:12 pm
Congrats! They’re such a cute couple, I watched the season of the Bachelorette that they met on and watched their wedding on tv. Can’t wait to see some photos.
July 27th, 2007 at 8:49 pm
I’m so glad everything went well for her. My cousin’s wife had a very difficult pregnancy which included her going on bedrest in December (she wasn’t due until mid-May!), stays in the hospital, and uncertainty through much of the pregnancy concerning whether the baby would survive healthfully.
Like Maxwell, my cousin’s daughter was born exactly four weeks early and weighed 5 pounds, four ounces. They had to keep her about six days so she could learn to eat on her own, but other than that she was born w/o complications and should catch up to other babies her size by the time she’s a year old. Hopefully Maxwell will be the same.
And I’m not sure whether comments have been made and not posted or not, but thanks CBB for not letting this thread turn into another natural vs c-section debate. Clearly there are reasons why Trista was considering and needed a c-section, and the way people were ragging on her before was totally obnoxious.
Sarah’s note: Luckily, people have been much more respectful, and we appreciate that, as I’m sure Trista will when/if she sees this post.
July 27th, 2007 at 8:54 pm
Congratulations!
July 27th, 2007 at 9:36 pm
Awww, what a tiny little one! I’ll bet she is just over the moon. What a beautiful baby he must be with such attractive parents. I really like the name too…Very masculine and strong.
July 27th, 2007 at 9:38 pm
Aw, congrats to them. glad to hear everyone is doing well. Maxwell is a sweet name!
July 27th, 2007 at 9:42 pm

Blessings to R&T! Such a teeny little fella… must have been so terrifying to them. Praise God that everyone is healthy! NOTHING ELSE MATTERS!
July 27th, 2007 at 10:23 pm
I’m so happy for them! I’m especially pleased that people are being kinder about the delivery remarks. I had pre-eclampsia and we had to deliver my baby girl at 29 weeks, 11 weeks early. Luckily I was able to not have a C-section. She weighed 2 lbs 10oz, and we spent a month in the NICU, but she is now a healthy and happy 6 1/2 month old 15 pounder
Congratulations to the new parents! Hope you are all healthy and happy!
July 27th, 2007 at 11:42 pm
Wow ! Congrats to them both. I also delivered early due to HELLP Syndrome, an escalated form of preeclampsia, 8 weeks early. My daughter was 4 lbs 5 oz and now thank God ,she is as healthy as can be.
Can’t wait to see pictures of baby Maxwell !!!
July 28th, 2007 at 12:35 am
First of all, Congratulations to Trista and Ryan!! I’m sure Maxwell is adorable!! Both of my boys were born at 36 weeks due to gestational diabetes and high blood pressure…although both weighed over 7 lbs!! The first was a c-section after an induction, 30 hours of labor and failure to descend…he wanted to stay in!! The 2nd was a planned c-section!! So Hang in There Trista!! Have fun with your new son…enjoy!!
July 28th, 2007 at 1:07 am
I’m so sorry he was born early, hope he will be just fine.
July 28th, 2007 at 1:45 am

Congrats! They are such a cute couple and I’m sure that baby boy is adorable! My best friend had pre-eclampsia with both babies and even eclampsia after her last one…it is very serious and it makes the delivery imminent. I can’t wait to see the pics and here’s too an easy C recovery from a fellow c-section mommy!
July 29th, 2007 at 1:21 pm
Congratulations Ryan and Trista and thank you again for sharing your lives with us! I know it’s strange for an ordinary person to be in the public eye like this. Enjoy your new son and take it easy!

I’m just wondering why Trista is giving CBB exclusive interviews, etc., when way back in the day, it was said on here that “if anyone should not procreate, it’s these two”. Interesting….
I love CBB, don’t get me wrong, but that was sort of a rude statement, and I’m surprised that she (Trista) wasn’t offended….
