Violet's Chariot awaits

C1gsg_2  Super Sporty parents Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are just a few of the many fans of the Chariot Carrier Cougar (from $500). They recently hit the farmer's market, pushing Violet in this sporty ride. It's easy to see why  outdoorsy types like Ben and Jen like this is multi-purpose, multi-tasking kiddie vehicle. It hits the trails as a bike trailer, then converts to a jogger with a single front wheel. Pop on the two front rotating wheels for a smooth city/farmer's market stroll. With an accessory kit you can even take this ride with you when you go cross country skiing. Suitable for infants (with accessory sling for seat adjustment) up to five yr olds, you could not ask for a more versatile and hard wearing sport stroller.

We tested the Chariot Carrier in the double wide version as a bike trailer, jogger and stroller and found it to be a superb push and comfy ride. The interior "cabin" is roomy and club-like and it adjusts to inclement or buggy weather in a flash, by just rolling down and velcro-ing assorted attached screens and covers. The push is smooth and easy, even with over 100 lbs of child inside. The handlebar worked well for both myself and my tall husband - there are two heights to choose from. And switching between modes - bike, stroller, etc, requires no tools or deep thought. Parts pop on and off with ease. My kids felt like royalty in the roomy cabin and much preferred the space to conventional strollers.

Despite its SUV-like sprawl and generous size unfolded, the Chariot carrier folds up rather small and compact. Remove the wheels and it actually takes up less space than most full sized strollers. If you are an outdoor enthusiast and plan to stay that way with kids in tow, this is one accessory worth investigating. Check the Chariot Carrier website for dealers near you - they are available all over the world!

We absolutely love our Chariot carrier! My husband is a retired professional skier, and cross-country skiing with our young daughter was a must. And this is a much more efficent and watmer way. We also use it as a bike trailer and a regular stroller.

I do not like it as a jogging stroller compared to some other modesl, but it does do the job and my daughter is always comfy and happy!

We have a Chariot Cougar 2 and just *love* it, plus the kids tend to fall asleep in it whether we're walking or biking. I think it's even got more ground clearance than our Subaru. Yes, it even does fine in the snow as a regular stroller. ;)

Our Chariot Cougar 2 is the best baby/child product I have spent $$ on. We used the Baby sling when my 2nd daughter was born, and didn't waste $ on a double stroller. Now that they are 3.5 and 1 we are biking all over town. Can't recommend it enough. Buyers tip: They are sold at REI, and often REI sends out coupons for 20% one item...save yourself ~$80. The other thing is that they retain value. When I was purchasing my double, I was able to sell the single on ebay for approx. retail price.
