Craig Biggio and sons in Houston Astros' dugout

Tags: Dads , Kids

Craig Biggio, 41, was clearly emotional today following a tribute video from his family during his last baseball game as a Houston Astro player.  Craig announced that he would retire at the end of this season in July. Sitting in the dugout with their father were sons Conor Joseph, 14, (l) and Cavan Thomas, 12.

Aww, I can't believe you have Biggio on the site! I'm a huge Astros fan, and I'm gonna miss seeing him in an Astros uniform everyday! His daughter Quinn threw out the first pitch before today's game too, http://www.chron.com/sports/photogallery/Biggio_says_goodbye.html
(3rd & 4th pictures) He's truly a class act.

Agree totally, this man is a class act. Houston baseball will never be the same. I went to the game last night and it was just magical. I watched today as Quinn his daughter threw out the first pitch to her brother Conner alongside dad who threw one to the other brother Cavan. It is a sad sad day in Houston, but one of our most proud. One of the best moments of the day was when he left the field to enter the clubhouse one last time (after running the entire perimeter of the field shaking the hand of every fan he could reach) he told his son, "Come on we can go home."

i love how he was catcher last night for a few innings... brought me back to when i was 7 years old and wrote him a fan letter. he never wrote me back - but that's okay...

Wow, he's fighting back his emotions. I'm glad I didn't see the game, I would have been crying. He's been the face of the Astros for 20 years now. I remember seeing him as a rookie at spring training when I was 7. What a loyal player!
