Paris Hilton feels like an aunt, talks baby names

Tags: Names , News

Paris Hilton an aunt? That's how the heiress sees herself in relation to the baby Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are expecting in January. Paris says she was psyched when Nicole and Joel broke the happy news to her.

She texted me, 'There's something I need to tell you in person.' I had a feeling what it was. She and Joel took me to dinner and said, 'Pregnant!' I was so excited. She looks gorgeous and so happy. Nicole's like my sister, so I feel like the aunt.

The single 26-year-old, who thinks the couple will be "great parents," has been outspoken about her baby dreams and already has plot out her ideal family plan, which may also include adoption.

I love babies. I want to get married in two or three years and have a baby. I'd like three or four. I want a boy first so he can protect the daughter.

The plans don't end there -- Paris has names picked out too.

If I had a child, I would name him London. I used to have a cat named London. I like the names Annabelle and Paris Jr. too.

wow Paris, youve really thought it all out. Good thing your cat wasnt named snowball!

So basically she'd name her son after her old cat?? Awesome.

Posted by: Alicia at Sep 5, 2007 11:28:01 PM

How funny is that-- my roommates and I were talking about what we thought Nicole would name her kid, and then Paris came up. I was like "She'd name her kid London or Paris Jr." I totally called it! LOL

That's disturbing, I actually like 2 of the 3 names she mentioned! Annabelle is lovely and Paris Jr. could be nicknamed P.J. Even London isn't that bad.

Posted by: Lara at Sep 6, 2007 12:00:51 AM

Aww cute, paris sounds excited. Nicole and her have been friends since kids, so I'm sure she will spoil the baby.

Paris just seems like a child in an adults body. It all seems like jealousy because Nicole is getting all the attention through her pregnancy. Didn't she mention just recently that she wanted kids by next year and now she is saying 2 or 3 years? Come on Paris, stick to one sotry!

I don't think she's serious. Paris Jr.? I know Paris is vain but I don't think she is that vain. Only time will tell!

This is a bit random but I hate it when people use family names to name their pets. My aunt named her dog after my grandmother. I had wanted to use it up until then!

Posted by: Lilybett at Sep 6, 2007 2:37:26 AM

Paris Jr... that reminds me how she was already talking about having kids when she was dating Paris Latsis and naming them London and Paris. I can picture the birth annoucement "Paris is happy to annouce the birth of Paris" *insert eye roll*
I'll probably sound very rude but I can't picture Paris as a mother.

Posted by: Aleah at Sep 6, 2007 3:57:52 AM

actually, Paris' child might have a hope yet, because it would be mostly raised by Nannies..and the Nannies might actually have a clue.

Posted by: Tary at Sep 6, 2007 5:15:04 AM

I just can't think of how to respond!!!

Posted by: Campbell at Sep 6, 2007 8:10:12 AM

This girl is so NOT ready for babies. First of all you shouldn't throw yourself in having babies just after you get married. I mean, you shouldn't get married just to get babies and second, you should be happy with a healthy baby!! Because it shouldný matter if the first will be a boy and the 3rd a girl... That's just silly!

And what is she talking about the big boy should protect his baby sisters?? COME ON, girls can protect themselves, they don't need a man for that!!!!

Posted by: Rachel at Sep 6, 2007 8:19:02 AM

i thought juniors were only for boys?

Posted by: danielle at Sep 6, 2007 9:03:32 AM

I've never been a big fan of juniors, and Paris Jr. is pretty awful to me. Annabelle and London are pretty cute though. Much better than Tinkerbell, right? LOL.

Posted by: Andria at Sep 6, 2007 9:05:19 AM

Paris, Jr.! LOL
That almost made me spit my morning coffee across the desk! Thanks for a great laugh, Paris!

Posted by: Jada at Sep 6, 2007 9:16:23 AM

I think she'd be a good mom. She seems like a very loving person. And I love the name Annabelle. London is cute too.

I don't see anything wrong with the Paris Jr. comment, and I certainly don't think it makes her vain. Men name children after themselves all the time and no one calls them vain. The double standards are getting ridiculous.

And it's incredibly arrogant to assume that you know if someone else is mature enough or ready to have children now - especially based on a few comments in an interview. We don't know this woman, and we don't know if she's ready or not, or if she's jealous of Nicole or not, or any of the other judgmental things people have said about her in this post. It constantly amazes me how people on this site will take a few words of someone they don't even know and make huge sweeping judgements about their lives and their personalities based on those few words or on a few pictures.

Why am I not surprised that she would name her baby "Paris Jr"??

Posted by: Lynn at Sep 6, 2007 11:14:03 AM

I know Carolina Herrera's daughter is a junior, Carolina Herrera, Jr., and I'm still trying to understand that, but I just don't get having a daughter that has Junior attached to the name. You can still name them after you without having Junior attached. I guess I just affiliate that more with boys. It just works better with them, IMO.

Still, Paris as a mom? Noooo.... If she's not the ditzy blonde who lives to party and be in the news, fine. But I have yet to see her act like any semblance of an adult yet.

Posted by: FC at Sep 6, 2007 12:12:02 PM

Hey if she got back with Paris Latsis the birth announcements could read
"Paris and Paris are proud to announce the birth of Paris" lmao should provide us with some amusement anyway

Posted by: Kirsty L at Sep 6, 2007 1:06:06 PM

How annoying! My 2 and a half year old daughter's name is London. :( It will lose its uniqueness if Paris names her kid that!
When (my) London was a few months old, I read a rumor online that Britney Spears was considering London for her baby (Sean Preston), and I was like "Nooooo!" She named her dog that instead....

Posted by: Lindy at Sep 6, 2007 1:28:56 PM

If women want to name kids after themselves, they're vain and stupid. But if men want to name kids after themselves, they're carrying on a family name. Come on people, we're in the 21st century! I think it would sound better as Paris, the Second. As for her comment about why she wants a boy first, that was just silly.

I was watching The Real World last night and there is a girl on there named Parisa and I really like that name! I think it would be cute if Paris named her kid Parisa. It's almost like Paris Jr. but a little bit different!

Posted by: Leigh at Sep 6, 2007 11:03:10 PM

Tary- We have no way of knowing whether or not Paris's kids (if she has any) will be raised mostly by nannies! I know that Paris has done some pretty crazy stuff, and I will admit that she does seem a bit immature.

However, I am not going to judge what kind of mother she'd be by her current behavior! A a previous poster pointed out, ten years ago hardly anyone would have guessed that Tori Spelling would be a good mom. Also, Angelina Jolie used to be quite a "wild child", but once she adopted Maddox and became a mother, she started acting a lot more responsible and mature.

One more example: Nicole Richie, who is good friends with Paris and is about the same age as Paris, seems to have matured quite a bit since becoming pregnant. Therefore, it is very possible that motherhood might change Paris as well.

City and place names are the latest trend for baby girls. Names like Brooklyn, London and Paris are becoming more and more popular.
