Inspired by her husband, Josh, who had recently created a food blog, TheFoodSection.com, Danielle stumbled upon the idea for the Celebrity Baby Blog while watching the Golden Globes in January 2004. While reeling off facts about who was pregnant with twins (Marcia Gay Harden) or had recently given birth (Mary-Louise Parker), Josh suggested she create a blog about the pregnancies and offspring of celebrities. After searching to see if one already existed (none did), Danielle grabbed her laptop (with newly installed wi-fi internet connection) and created the first website dedicated to celebrity babies. The site celebrated its fourth anniversary in January 2008.

Founder/Publisher:
A lifelong New Yorker, Danielle Friedland recently abandoned the city of her birth for greener pastures, aka Maplewood, NJ. She and her husband Josh
welcomed their first child, Anya Lucia, on October 14th, 2005. She
runs the Celebrity Baby Blog full-time, the best job she's ever had.
She blogs about Anya occasionally -- follow her pregnancy up through the Anya updates here. She also tries to sneak in links to her husband Josh's site, The Food Section, whenever possible. Josh left his full-time job as the communications director at a prominent NYC hospital in November 2007 in order to provide child care for Anya.
Prior to creating the Celebrity Baby Blog empire, Danielle earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice at Hampshire College in Amherst, MA. Her thesis was titled "Quantifying Criminology: The History of the FBI's Uniform Crime Reports." She is also proud of her experiment proposal for a more precise viral test for latex condoms. She was Managing Editor and Photography Editor of the campus newspaper, The Phoenix (which later became known as The Forward) for two years and was involved with incorporating it after it went out of business. Her friend Dave insists that the art project/website that she created in 1994, Natalie Engel's Chest of Lust, Longing and Obsession, was the first blog.
She most recently toiled for corporate America in the Sales Leadership, Training, and Events departments at Avon Products, which she credits for teaching her how to treat her blog like a business. She has also worked in technical support for a sexist pig who made her wear skirt suits even though she was crawling under desks all day, and as a web producer before the dotcom bubble burst. She says her worst jobs hands down are a tie between copy-editing an academic chemistry journal and a three day telemarketing gig in high school where she had to convince people over the phone to accept free frozen meat.
News/Photo Editor:
Angela lives in Virginia and is the chair of Relay For Life
in her community. Prior to becoming the News/Photo Editor, she was
CBB's Sports Contributor. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time
with her husband Scott, family, reading, and
watching sports.
Fashion/Gear/Reviews Editor:
Bronwyn
lives in Northern Virginia with her husband, Anton. They welcomed their
first child, Antonia Josephine, on February 8, 2006. After becoming a
bit obsessed with babies and gear she decided to share her random
knowledge with the world, so she could stop giving unsolicited advice
to parents in stores. She writes her own blog, Mommy and Maven,
and does some freelance work for various other sites. For 4 years
she was a Style editor for KOL (AOL for Kids) and run KOL Jr. (AOL
for pre-schoolers) and KOL Toy Time. She's addicted to technology and
gadgets and can be found incessantly checking her email.
Senior Contributors:
Sarah lives in southern New Hampshire and is taking a break from pursuing her masters degree in social work. When she's not blogging, Sarah likes to read non-fiction, go out to eat, and travel (especially to warm climates!). She was formerly the News/Photo editor since 2004, but recently tried to cut back to part-time work on CBB in November -- she wasn't successful!
Shannon
lives in Sydney, Australia, with her parents and three siblings. She
spends her free time shopping, working in a fashion store and hanging
out with friends. Shannon began university this year and is completing
a double degree; a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of International
Studies, majoring in Journalism. Shannon does not have children
of her own but several gorgeous friends' children that she adores.
Celebrity Fashion/Gear Senior Contributor:

Ciaran is a mom to four kids/co-conspirators aged newborn-10, children's clothing designer and writer. She is a born fashion sleuth, tracking trends and stylewatching coast to coast. She has been known to ask other people's children to take their shoes off so that she can see the label. A native East Coaster, she currently lives in southern California and enjoys the many perks including sunshine and daily run ins with cast members from her favorite reality shows. Hobbies include it-bag obsessing, stroller-gazing and the occasional "mommy lit" indulgence.
She has a children's clothing line called Little Lubbaloo (which you can buy at FunDayShop.com, and at other web boutiques and retail shops.) She has also been writing for Mommies with Style for the past couple of years.
Contributors:
Anya
is our Latin America and fashion/gear contributor. She is currently living on a small island off of Cancun with her one year old son, Andrew, and her husband, Evencio. After the birth of her son in August 2006, she took a few years off from college to be with her family, but will be returning to her studies back in the U.S in the fall. She began to work for the site after spending countless hours obsessively searching for all the celebs fashion and gear! When she’s not endlessly searching for baby items, she loves to spend time with her family on the beach, shop, and enjoy the hot, humid weather in Mexico.

Carlie lives in Wales with her husband, Jamie, and two baby daughters Charlie and Courtney, who were born on the same day - just a year apart (Sept 21st 2006 and 2007). At the minute she's a stay-at-home mum, but when the girls get a little older she hopes to go to college to study journalism. In her spare time she enjoys reading books by Irish author Cecilia Ahern, going out for meals, taking the girls to the local baby play centre, reading celebrity magazines and, of course, catching up on the news featured on CBB.
Jamey
lives in Lexington, South Carolina with her husband, Michael, and their
three children, Ryan, Emma and Avery. When she is not carting kids from
place to place, she enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, shopping, and
of course, keeping up with celebrity happenings.
Kaisa,
18, lives in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, a small country
in Eastern Europe, right between Latvia and Russia. She is currently in
high school and will be finishing shortly. She was an avid reader
of CBB for about a year before began contributing - she loves small
children because they just are so very adorable - especially celebrity
babies! In her free time, Kaisa loves to read and hang out with
friends. She's obsessed with learning languages - Kaisa speaks
Estonian and English and is currently studying and has an understanding
of French, Spanish and Russian. She is thinking of studying psychology
or journalism one day or perhaps even pursuing a career in diplomatic
relations.
Kirrily lives in Sydney, Australia, with her husband and works for The Sydney Morning Herald as an information analyst. She loves traveling, cooking, photography and reading.
Missy is a legal journalist in suburban Philadelphia, where she lives with her husband Eddie and their two sons, preschooler Owen and baby Sam. She obtained degrees in journalism and political science from Penn State University. During the rare times when she's not working or being 'mommy,' she enjoys running, ice hockey and having a glass of wine (or two!) with her friends. Missy also contributes to CBB Reviews.
Fashion/Gear Reporter:
Hollywood mom Tracy Bobbitt has met a number of celebrities over the years while working for Sandra Bullock's Fortis Films and during her tenure assisting film-maker husband Russell on features such as "Pleasantville," and "Never Been Kissed.” As the founder and CEO of Crib Rock® Couture and Crib Rock® Decor she's dressed the babies and kids of those same celebrities and many, many others. Now that her own child wants to "be a star," Tracy’s chronicling her adventures in marriage, motherhood, design and business at www.HollywoodMomBlog.com.
Photographer/Interviewer:
Jennifer is a celebrity maternity photographer. She has photographed enough beautiful celebs to know that celebrities definitely have much more exciting (and stretch mark-free) pregnancies than everyone else. Jennifer's work can be seen at Gabbeli Photography. When she's not shooting, Jennifer spends her time smooching her two adorable children, Gabriel and Elizabeth.
Reviewers:
Teba lives in Brooklyn with her husband, Anthony, and their daughter, Catalina (a.k.a Catie) who is one of Anya’s best friends. When she is not busy writing reviews, Teba is hard at work in academia and/or giving (sometimes unsolicited) advice to new moms.
Jen lives in Norwalk, CT. She has an English degree from Dartmouth and has written for People, Sports Illustrated and Glamour,
but now spends more time reading Dr. Seuss to her 7-month-old daughter
Bailey and helping her husband Joe run his IT consulting firm, Desktop Guerrillas.
Julie lives in San Diego, CA with her husband Mark, their 3 year old daughter
Paige (PJ), their pug Macy and Boston Terrier puppy Zoe. She's a
photographer, and last year she says she finally got the courage to leave her day
job of 5 years to start her own photography business - www.Lot116.com.
She tells us, "It's been AMAZING and one of the best things I've ever done. To love
your job, meet awesome people, be your own boss, choose your own hours
AND make money is dream come true. Before that, I worked in the
skateboarding/snowboarding industry for DC Shoes."
Nancy
lives with her husband Eric, 2 year old son, Ben, and new baby Allegra Jade in Queens, NY. Nancy has worked in TV production at the
Food Network for 5 years (where she researched for Emeril Live
and wrote promo spots) and spent a year NY's Fox5's 10:00 News. Before
her son was born, she taught for 6 years in the New York City schools.
She now teaches two nights a week at a local college. Nancy is stroller
obsessed and is notorious for giving her two cents about strollers and
baby products when she sees parents shopping in her local baby store.
Reva writes from Boston, MA, where she uses her three children as a living laboratory for kid and baby product testing. Her 12-year old son, Ethan, is an adoring admirer and photographer of his 2-year old sister Lily, and 8-month old brother Leo. Her husband Peter offers unlimited computer support in return for dinner. Reva previously worked in marketing for several pre-IPO and publicly-traded software companies. Now up to her ears in babies and bar mitzvah planning, she is taking a hiatus from the 9-5 world until she can get 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep.
Stephanie writes from Toronto, ON, where she lives with her husband and
their two children. Her son, "Sweet Pea" is three and proving to be
more than a little contrary. Her daughter, "Little Plum" is three
months and loves her brother dearly in spite of his obstinacy. She has
them to thank for her love of all things baby-gear-related and will
sheepishly admit that a teensy bit of her excitement about the arrival
of her daughter was because of all the new girly-baby products she’d
get to try!
A children’s book buyer for five years before her son arrived and a dabbling writer now, Stephanie is finding that it’s as a mom that her post-graduate degree in theatre is finally being put to good use.
