Interior designer and TV presenter Meg Mathews recently sat down with Hello! magazine for an exclusive interview and photoshoot around her brand new home. She also spoke about what life is like with her "very sporty" daughter Anais.

I have just given [Anais] her own little pony. Now before you raise your eyebrows, she has already been riding for about 4 years. She's had to prove to me that she's really committed and loves it comes rain or shine. She's been spending every waking minute at our local stables, happy to muck out and clean tack. Her pony is called Megastar and she is thrilled.

Apart from riding, she swims like a little fish. And she's been going to the Sylvia Young Theatre School for singing, dancing and acting classes.

In September of last year, Anais' dad, Oasis rocker Noel Gallagher, 40, and his girlfriend Sara Macdonald welcomed son Donovan Rory to the world, news that Meg says her daughter was "absolutely thrilled" about.

She has his photo on her bedside table.

More from the interview below!

At only 8-years of age Anais has also had her very first taste of the fashion world recently.

She was asked by my good friend John Galliano if she could come up with an inspiration board for his new kids range. We carried it to Paris on the Eurostar and she handed it over to John himself.

I think anything that keeps children open to being creative is positive. I don't like the idea of her sitting at home playing Nintendo.

I think it's great they made her wait until they knew she was dedicated to the sport to get her a pony.

I rode for 12 years competitively, and the sport is just great for the mind, body, and soul. When I have kids, they will ride. It's a done deal :)

You can hear a pronunciation of the name here:
http://www.howjsay.com/index.php?word=anais&submit=Submit

I believe she is named after Anais Nin, so it should be pronouced ah-na-ees
But I've also heard that name pronouced ah-nye-iss

I'm not sure which pronunciation they use.

recently her father was being interviewed on the radio by Russell Brand while he collected her from her mothers and Noel put her on the phone to speak to 'uncle Russell' and Russell pronouned it 'a-neese'. I have heard it pronounced this way before by someone born in France. But I've always seen it as being sort of officially said as 'ah nah ees'.

Don't know who she is, but I think that it's great that she is so open about her daughter loving her new half-brother and having a picture of him beside her bed. Kudos to her for also making sure her daughter was committed to all the work that was involved with horses before deciding to take one on herself.
