Update: Tony Dovolani and wife expecting boy/girl twins

Tonydovolani_john_13601705_max_cbb Update: Tony told Good Morning America that the other twin is a girl.

Update April 2nd: One of the babies is a boy, Tony reveals.

We're not sure of the sex of the other twin, because a leg was hiding it in the ultrasound.

Originally posted March 26th: Dancing With the Stars pro Tony Dovolani, 34, and his wife Trendalina are expecting twins. Lina, 26, is due in late August. The new babies will join daughter Luana, 2 ½.

More quote below.

People has a new quote from Tony:

Kids are a blessing and give your life purpose and meaning. I cannot stop smiling this year and part of the reason is Marissa is a sweetheart. I’m thinking about my babies and she’s thinking about her baby. Now if somebody doesn’t point their toe it’s no longer as important as it used to be.

This season Tony is paired with actress Marissa Jaret Winokur, also an expectant parent -- her son Zev is due on July 15th.

Oh I'm so excited for them!!! Aww...his baby girl is absolutely adorable. I could only imagine if they have twin boys. If they look anything like their daddy, they're going to be breaking the hearts of newborn baby girls in the nursery!

Gosh, what is in the water out there? Another set of twins. Unbelievable.

Congratulations Tony and Trendalina.

That's cool he and his wife are having twins!

Beverley you might be right about the 'something in the water' idea, especially if the EPA's study that found trace amounts of prescription drugs, including sex hormones, in some cities' water supplies is to be believed! lol!

I had been on myspace.com early yesterday and I was on Tony's page (or what says The official Tony Dovolani Myspace Page) who knows if it's really his or not. But after I read this article I got back on there and sent him an email and I actually got a response back. I just told him congrats on the twins. I don't know if there's anyway to actually prove it's him, but I think it's pretty cool!

Has anyone noticed that twins have become a trend? I can not count how many pairs have been born this past year and are expecting this year. Can you CB?

Posted by: Kathy at Apr 1, 2008 4:26:00 PM

Jessie, yes..it is Tony's MySpace. Edyta and Maksim and Louis all have them too and they do answer fans.

His little girl is soooo cute! I can't wait to see these babies now. But the post from 2006 says they've been married 7 years. She's 26 now; if I'm doing the math correctly that means they got married when she was 17?
I'm 26 and I can't imagine being married to my boyfriend from back then, lol.

Posted by: emily at Apr 1, 2008 8:33:39 PM

Emily, if they got married seven years ago and she is currently 26, then Tony's wife was 19 when they married, not 17.

I'm sure the twins will be as cute as their older sister. I wonder if they'll announce the sexes. Did they announce it with Luana?

Hi,

One of them is a boy, but they don't know the sex of the other one.

His quote from TV Guide:

On a much lighter note, there is baby news to report: Pro Tony Dovolani and his wife, Trendlina, are expecting twins at the end of August. Dovolani is over the moon about the news, which will mean at least one brother for his two-and-a-half year old daughter, Luana. "We're not sure of the sex of the other twin," he says, "because a leg was hiding it in the ultrasound."

I said the post from 2006 said they'd been married 7 years. It's 2008 now, so 7+2=9 and 26 -9=17. I believe my math is correct.

Oops! Sorry, I must have missed that part of the post.

Posted by: Leslie at Apr 2, 2008 12:25:34 PM

How exciting!!! Congrats Tony and Lina!!!

Autumn you're right. There are traces of hormones in water supplies all over the US from chemical/hormonal birth control. Filtration systems can only filter out bacteria and such, but not hormones. Researchers say this may be a tied to the early on slot of puberty in girls.

I don't know if this can be linked to many people are having twins without IVF or fertility treatments, although I don't know if Tony and his wife did, but there do seem to be many celebs having twins who say it happened naturally.

Posted by: LolaCola at May 21, 2008 1:12:19 PM

Tony said in another recent post that they are naturally conceived twins. He and Lina were totally shocked to find out they were having two!

err, this onslaught may have a little something to do with the massive amounts of hormones in all of our milk and meats...

thanks, FDA. job well done.
