Firstly I don't have children, but if I did I think most things that celebrities dress their children in are either too expensive, or in stores that aren't near where I live.

I do like to read about what they wear though, I wouldn't suggest NOT doing that haha

Wow, that is such crap! I have only been a CBB reader for about a month now. I LOVE this site! I check it probably 5 times a day! I love it for the articles and pictures. I love looking at celebrity babies or finding out a celebrity is pregnant or had a baby and what their names are. I am not a CBB reader to go and buy all of the clothes celebrites put on their kids!! I am suprised people are thinking that is the whole focus of this site. I have noticed occasionally where an article lists a clothing item, acessory, etc, but that is in no way the focus of this site. We are not a bunch of obsessed people that HAVE to have these clothes for our kids. Think of it this way....if your friend has a really cute outfit on her daughter that you love and really want to get for your child, you are going to ask her where she got it so you can get one too. Because you love the outfit. Same as here! If you see an outfit that you really like and want to get, the details of where you can get it might be listed on the article and you just might get it...because you like it, not because a celebrity bought it so you must too! You guys are doing a great job! Keep it up! You have a lot of readers, for good reason! They are just totally missing the point of this great website! It's like reading a magazine online and you can talk to others about it! What makes me laugh is....you cannot tell me these people haven't read a magazine and have seen a cute dress on a celebrity and have to get it because they like it and want it for themselves. Grrr....this just angers me. Obviously they haven't taken the time to really look at this site.

I think that celebrities are viewed as trendsetters and what they are wearing or choose to buy for their babies is of interest because it shows a trend. Celebrities are all about image and it makes sense that their children are part of that.

i totally come here to look at celebrity baby fashion... it makes sense to me that all 4 media outlets would focus on that aspect of the blog.

I like the support of independent businesses that the "celebrities" do, especially mother run ones. I don't buy things because a celebrity's kid is wearing them, I buy them because *I* like them. I avoid the "bling" stuff, but the stuff I find interesting is the green choices, the city dweller items (I live in an urban area) and the funky fun irreverent items. I like to think I'm fun and edgy (though I am sure I am not). The other thing I like seeing is celebrities being involved with their kids. And that Marcia Cross's twins wear stuff from Target. Because you know, that's upscale.

I don't know that I have made a purchase for my child simply because I saw a celebrity using a particular product. BUT ... I do get excited when I see a celebrity using something that I already bought. For example, last fall I bought my DD the Janie & Jack "Little Paris" dress. It's an adorable dress, and I loved it. I admit that I was jazzed this spring when I saw the photos of Suri Cruise wearing the same dress. And I bought a magazine that had photos of Suri in the dress. Does that make me a bad parent? I don't think so.

Likewise, I got excited when I saw our bouncy seat being used on an episode of "Friday Night Lights" and a T-shirt that my DH has on "Jon & Kate + 8."

I'm just as likely to buy something being used by another Mom at the park. If something catches my eye, it catches my eye--no matter who is wearing it or using it, etc. But I agree that part of it is just awareness--perhaps people weren't aware of a particular item or piece of clothing before a celebrity baby used it or wore it, etc.

I voted "Other" on the poll, so here's my comment of why: I saw the "ITZBEEN Baby Care Timer" advertised on CBB and I just LOVED how useful it seemed! Right after my second child was born and my head was in a fog I mentioned to my mom that I saw the timer online and thought the concept was so cool. She piped in that if I wanted it she'd buy it for me! I said if she was willing that I'd love to have it! My little guy is almost one year old and I still use it, mostly for how long he's been awake or asleep or how long it's been since he's had Tylenol (like when he gets his vaccinations). I realize that I could probably just get a regular old kitchen timer for that....but it's nice to have one that's JUST for keeping track of baby stuff.

I saw a beautiful organic cotton blanket on CBB that I got for new very eco-friendly parents.

I have purchased practical items that your site made me aware of- such as the orbit stroller, bottles, carseats diaper bags etc.

I have bought things after seeing them on CBB, but its items that you have reviewed and I felt comfortable trusting CBB's opinion on the items. I haven't found such honest reviews anywhere else.

I only look at celibrity baby blogs to see how much there kids have grown.

While I have never bought anything that has been showcased on CBB, that is only because I am not yet a parent. I had wanted to comment last week when the original post about the article in the WS Journal was put up, but I simply forgot to. What I had wanted to say: I started viewing this site when I was 22 years old, with no children or babies in my life. I just simply enjoy babies, children AND celebrities. While I find it somewhat interesting to see what celebs and their children are wearing, THAT is not my sole reason for loving this site. This site provides me with entertainment, information, issues to think about and can be quite educative in terms of motherhood, and child-rearing issues (babywearing, breastfeeding, etc). For the WSJ (or other blogs/media outlets) to reduce this site to a frilly site for materialistic mothers does the site and its readers a disservice.

I am so sorry that this blog is being reduced to a shopping site. I really feel like this is a well-balanced site, and such a positive place for me to escape to on a regular basis. Baby gear and clothing is a part of having children, and I appreciate your reviews since I don't have a lot of friends from whom I can get real-world information.

I understand your frustration with the content of the articles written about CBB. For myself, I find this website to be just the opposite. It is a nice break to come here and see pictures of celebrities just being Mom and Dad. Also, it's nice to come to a website that shows me where to purchase something I may find appealing for my child instead of doing a blind internet search that could take hours!

Don't worry! The faithful readers of CBB know what the real deal is. I am so glad I found this site!

I bought a Peanut Shell sling for my son after seeing them featured on CBB, but I was already in the market for a similar item. I think that there was a discount code for CBB readers, so it was a great price.

That's the only item I've specifically bought from CBB, but I do anticipate using the site as a resource the next time I am in the market for baby items. CBB product reviews are always thorough and useful.

Also, I think that the information about celebrity baby fashion is interesting. There are certain products I would never have heard of otherwise, such as cloth diapers with ties that Maggie Gyllenhaal uses for her daughter.

Ok I have been a CBB reader for over a year now and I DO NOT have any kids. I'm a 20 y.o. college student. So if those articles want to think that the only CBB readers are moms looking for their kids to have the same things as celebrity kids - they are DEAD WRONG.

I have to say, I didn't realize a site like this existed. I read a few of the posts and find it interesting how intrigued parents are by what a children of celebs are wearing. As a parent of two, I try to make sure what I am teaching my children through my actions is the best I can do. I personally think putting such an emphasis on fashion because some celeb did it is unfortunate. While we could ask, what about everyone else trying to follow what other celebs are wearing, and we are just doing something simple for our kids. We can also say that at this point in time, the savings rate for most households is dismal at best and those fashionable items that we "just had to have" could have been passed up on. That money even could have been set aside for our child's college education via a savings plan. While it is boring and far from now, the things we consider important today will shape the lives of us in retirement through our children. Peace.

My son is grown, but if I had young children now, I'd never buy them clothes based on what celebrities' children wear. As a matter of fact, I think TomKat go way overboard on what they spend on Suri's clothes. $2,000 dresses for a two-year-old... hellooooo?! How long is she going to fit into it? If I were going to emulate any celebrities it would probably be the Jolie-Pitts, who seem to have an eminently sensible attitude about how they dress their children. The kids wear ordinary clothes they can run around in and get messed up, and when a garment is outgrown it is passed down to the next sibling (if it's still wearable). I've seen photos of little Pax wearing his big brother's old T-shirts.

I'm one of the readers clicking over out of curiosity from the WSJ article and did find more to your site than merely clothing and celebrity obsession. I expected to see gobs of pictures of babies and this seems balanced enough with information and moderate baby pictures.

But what does concern me about this culture of baby-snapping is what's on the other side of the camera. While many of these photos seem to be posed for, others are snap shots of people out doing regular things. I'm becoming quite disturbed by this trend because it means in our curiosity about what these children look like we're asking them to be subjected to sometimes crowds of paparazzi snapping their every move. The argument that celebrities choose this lifestyle -- and often court it -- should not be allowed to justify 24/7 surveillance of them and their children. Perhaps we should look into establishing 'rules of order' and places where celebrities can go without being followed -- it seems school, grocery shopping, random walks around town, etc. should be off limits and their private lives respected in specific ways. And it would be nice if sites about celebrities said how they got their pictures so we could support ones in more controlled environments and shun TMZ ones to show our desire to balance access with privacy.

My daughter, Alyssa, was featured in the Baby Legs post. Which is kind of ironic, because I generally think there is WAY too much analysis on this site regarding every item children in the photos are wearing. But I figure the writers must put it there b/c if they leave it out, someone will ask about it.

I bought the Baby Legs ONLY because I like them. Period. I generally don't even read what the celeb babies are wearing b/c most of it is way overpriced for my taste. I do most of my kid's shopping at BRU and Target. Which is where I found the Baby Legs. Which is the only reason I bought them. Still overpriced, but we've used them a lot and you can't beat something that looks like tights, can hold up to a baby crawling around in them AND doesn't need to be pulled all the way down for a diaper change. That's it - no infatuation w/ celeb fashion, just liked (and now love) the product!

Very well said Danielle. I don't have kids so I have never purchased anything I have seen on the site, but I love that you show all the fashion and baby items on the site. I never saw the difference in strollers, slings, car seats, and so on until I started coming to this site and seeing the different products that celebs used and then reading the comments about people liked that product or that the celeb was using the product the wrong way or the right way. When I do have kids I would use this website as a resource in what products I would buy my kids. I love the reviews that are done on the site and some of the celeb kids clothing is reasonably priced and rather cute.

Babies are my life - both personally and professionally. I am WAY more interested in babies and children than anything else in the world and looking at fashion and gear is just one tiny, unimportant aspect of that. I'm not sure that I've ever bought anything I saw on CBB but I'm just totally fascinated with celeb babies like some people are with adult celebs. I'd rather look at hip kid clothes than hip adult clothes - really no different than reading vogue or any other celeb thing that people read - it's just smaller people!

I was interviewed by Rachel from the WSJ but was not included in the final article. This is probably because even though I am inspired by CBB to purchase items for myself and my children, it is not because a certain celebrity owns them, but rather that living in a small town means I do not see these things in the stores. CBB exposes me to carriers, blankets etc that I would otherwise never hear of, and I made a point of telling this to Rachel. I suppose I didn't come across as celebrity-obsessed enough. Keep up the good work CBB!!

i don't have kids, but even if i did and wanted to buy stuff off the site, i couldn't coz most companies don't ship outside the U.S.-hell, even amazon.com won't.i'm purely here to see the celeb kids and marvel at the resemblance to their families. doesn't matter what they wear.

I love this site and check it everyday to see celebrities and their children.

As for buying something, I have not had that opportunity as my daughter in law has yet to have a successful pregnancy.

When she does I will be buying that lovely mother necklace that I've seen on the site. The one that is silver discs with the baby's name or birthdate on it. I've had my eye on it for a long time.

Hopefully, my son and lovely daughter in law will not have any more heartbreaks and she will have that necklace.

I buy things that I find on CBB because I like things that are unique and want the children i buy things for to stand out and be different. Not just wearing the same thing the kid sitting next to them has on.

I go to CBB to check out the Celebrity babies. thats it. Most celebrities, spend over over my budget. plus i dont focus on materialist things...i just love to see the babies :)

i love babies, always have and always will. the same goes for older children. i have two children of my own (2 under 2) and have always been one who smiles at little babies in restaurants and starbucks, etc. (and these are run-of-the-mill babies who live in my city) my husband makes fun of me for it.

anyway, i just think that this site is 1) a way to admire these cute little people (i like seeing cute things) 2) i do like seeing, whether in an advertisement or what a celeb has bought, options for dressing my kids (those of you who have boys know how difficult it is to find interesting clothes that don't have sports, or cars, etc. disney characters splattered everywhere) i've never bought anything based on what a celebrity has worn, but it gives me ideas 3)it does have interesting articles on breastfeeding, which i wholeheartedly rejoice in seeing, and other pertinent topics and 4) it's just a fun place for me, when i have 5 minutes, to check out people who have something in common with me.

i do think it's so strange how opinionated people get about other people's lives, as if what they have to say matters at all. yeah, i wish everyone breastfed, but i'm not going to lash out at people i've never met or comment on a celebrity's choice to have an elective c-section, even though i wish people didn't do that either.

anyway, i consider myself a very well-educated, intelligent and well-rounded individual (and an excellent mother) who likes to take a break from my little ones every now and then, and not have to read about something really heavy (which i do, just don't want to do all the time)).

so, keep it up CBB!

Let's face it - celebs have access to newer, more interesting designers than we mere mortals. While it's not the only reason I visit CBB, I do love reading about gear and kit that I wouldn't stumble across on my own.

Plus, it's very hard for small-end firms to compete with the brands in every mall, so I think it's a win-win. Appaman gets a tee on a Jolie-Pitt kid ... and plenty of parents place orders, too.

Funny, before now i've never noticed the 'fashion' on here.. I just like looking at the babies because it fun to see who they look like, etc , etc. Its fun to watch them grow, and to see the celebrity being 'just parents'.

I live in Primrose Hill, London, a mother of two. I am very fortunate to live amongst and alongside many of these celebrities and their children.
I get to see first hand just how these celebs understand the power a photographic image can hold in society. In return many celebs are happy and eager to promote ideas of positive parenting. These recognisable people help fill a gap educating these ideas to the mass public. They often manage to succesfully lead the way with their positive parenting ideas and get through to the general public on a level where our goverments try but often fail us..our society benefits from positive role models.
CBB has given us wonderful positive images and articles of celebrities parenting choices on breastfeeding, diapers (eco issues) and babywearing ( the use of slings to promote a closeness and bonding with our children), fantastic for raising these brilliant conepts above beyond their previous hippy tags.
Quite simply CBB has brought us images of very busy people still managing to spend quality time with their familys, a positive message to all of us out there

I am greatful to this site for bringing beautiful children's design to my attention, that would otherwise pass me by. I am personally insulted that these articles claim the products are sold purely on celeb endorsement and obsession. In my opinion CBB gives us the opportunity to see high end quality and well designed baby products in use, personally this helps me decide which products would suit me and where my money will be best spent.

I purchased a Max Daniel Baby Blanket after seeing Violet Affleck carrying this around and I wanted something for my future niece or nephew (I now have a gorgeous 7 month old nephew). This type of blanket is not available in Australia and if it were, it probably would be expensive. I love the feel of the blanket, so I can see why gorgeous Violet loves it so much.

I have been reading CBB for almost 2 years now.
I'm 18 university student, I study midwifery and love this site because it's a general interest mixed with a bit of hype.

I look at the clothes and things, but I mostly love the Pic and updates about the babies and pregnancies. I love to see how fast they grow and what they look like.

I also love the product reviews, they are honest and if friends and relatives are looking to buy something for their children, I look here first to see if it's been reviewed.

I love this site, and it just goes to show that people of all ages look at it and some don't even have children.

I was one of the mom's featured in the article regarding some purchases that I had made for my daughter. I would like to point out that I bought the 2 items prior to seeing them on celeb babies. It was the STYLES that I saw on celeb kids that made me buy them. Plus there are all kinds of links on the website that give you discounts or free shipping so I usually check here when I am buying something for my kids to see if I could save some money.

It's a shame that people have to comment on everything that people do. Maybe these people are content with making purchases at all the common stores and seeing kids in all the same clothes, but there are alot of us out there that are into style ourselves and want our kids to look nice and different. I think it was Catherine who posted that she buys things to stand out. I couldn't agree with her more.

Hi everyone! I really enjoy visiting this site. I think it is entertaining and fun to visit. Although, I like this site because it keeps you up to date with who is expecting and what they have. What they wear or what baby gear they buy matters very little to me. The items they buy are too expensive for everyday people to afford. I wish there was a little more focus on baby products that most people buy and can afford. I.E. Graco, Playtex, Evenflo, Fisher Price, you know Target or BRU items. But then this is "The Celebrity-Baby Blog" so I understand the focus on "celebrity baby" things.
I think it's just neat to see them doing things with their kids and read how their pregnancy/delivery/c-section went and how they deal with their child issues after.

If someone wants to and has the money to buy over priced baby clothes...so be it. It's not like it's a crime. Besides, if you spent money on clothes just because a celeb's baby has it, I bet you money no one on the street would see it on your child and know that is the same outfit so and so's kid has. I personally have not bought anything off this site. If I see something I like, I might get it but I would get it because I like it, not because a celeb has it. BUT, if that is what people are doing, who cares?

Obviously CBB can only exist with advertising support - and therefore it is important for Danielle to know what her reader demographics are and to prove to her sponsors that the readers are actually making the jump to purchase an item. It is simple economics. If none of these products inspired readers to go out an spend money, the advertisers would not see the advantage to advertise her. I don't think this site is all about the consumer product though and I enjoy reading reviews of strollers and other gear. I would never buy an item because a celebrity had it - I would only buy it if I genuinly enjoyed it and it fit my needs and lifestyle.

The absolute only reason I read CBB is for the very simple fact that I love babies! Not just celebrity babies, all babies! I'm a 20-year-old college student and for the most part, I skip over the baby items.

I am expecting a little nephew in October so now I'm more interested in baby fashions and have found the reviews to be very helpful. I just find it as another resource for expecting parents/parents. Obviously, there are products that are WAY over my budget to buy but there's no harm in looking.

Danielle, you are completely correct when you say that other magazines/blogs do the exact same thing about celebrity fashion. How many of us are following the fashions we see celebrities wearing? I also don't think it's fair that these magazines are telling US why we read this blog! How do they know why we read this blog? They didn't ask us - they assumed simply by looking at the blog. Obviously, they needed to do a lot more research to substantiate their article.

I will be honest, I really could care less what the celeb babies are wearing! The only thing that I really liked were the big skirts called petty or something like that. I read your blog because I am interested in celebrities and their babies. If I happened to notice something nice, I will check into it further. Example, the sandals Anya was wearing that changed colors. Those impressed me, but I thought they were over-priced. Your website is very informative and I really enjoy your articles on things as breastfeeding, keeping your baby in a rear facing car seat. I cant believe that they said the website was only about fashion etc. Obviously, the writers don't read the CBB! Keep up the good work, I love this website.

i love CBB the product information and reviews on your site are excellent for helping decide on what to buy, i think that all in all it is a great fun website and for those who are critical they have the chose not to go to this site

I think the products reviewed are great b/c it allows busy moms to see what items are out there that they may not have heard of otherwise. Celebrities have stylists, personal assistants and vendors bringing all kinds of fun and innovative items to them for their review. For instance: Diapees and Wipees. INGENIOUS - and I never would have known such an item even existed if not for CBB. I didn't buy it b/c I thought it was "cool," I bought it b/c it was a great product.

Wow! Well, yes I have made some purchases based on what I have seen on celebrity baby blog. Not because I want my son to look like a celebrity kid, but because I was looking for something and happened to see it on CBB and went ahead and got it. Mostly due to reviews.

For instance, I got a candy necklace paci holder because I was looking for one that was different and had a bit of a longer chain. This fit the bill. Do people notice it? Yes, of course..it looks like a real candy necklace and people usually do a double take when they see one hanging on a 7 month old.

I have also bought pediped shoes..after trying countless others that kept falling off my son's small feet.

Also I have a pair of babylegs, they are great for hot evenings in bed.

And my newest purchase is a peg perego stroller that I LOVE! I found it on the review section at a store that CBB said was having a sale and boy, what a sale. A peg for 180.00 NICE!

So, thanks CBB, for doing the footwork for me and my son and helping me to solve the issues of what to buy and why.

I came on this site mainly to see pics of celebrities with their children, see who the kids look like, etc. Just like other blogs I visit I go mainly to see the great pictures. Just like adult celebrities though, if something is cute I like to buy it, or something similiar to it. I know in general I always love fashion so if someone I like say like jessica simpson has a cute pair of shoes or a handbag, if I like it, I will buy it. Same goes with stuff celebrities use. I see they use the bugaboo or orbit a lot, and I like those strollers too, but not just because of a celebrity, I find it to be a beautiful carriage and a good one

I'm sorry you got some negative reaction. It seems to me that there are some celebrities who cooperate fully and allow pictures to be taken of them.

There are some picture that look like paparazzi taken and I kind of feel that that invades a person's space.

I think the celebrities themselves appreciate it. They go to gifting room and know they'll be photographed there. I wonder why they attend when they can very well afford the latest and greatest. I guess it's the product marketing (product photographed with a celeb and a baby). I can't decide who is the one taking advantage there. Most of the time, these are celebs who need to be in the spotlight. You kind of see who is looking at the camera...and who has the camera 'in their face'.
So while i applaud the site and reviews...i can see the other point of the other critics. When the photographs are very big, it really calls out the 'in your face' picture taken.

I personally didn't see any ones paticular celebrity child wearing pedipeds I just saw that ad in between posts and thought it had an interesting appeal so I wanted to see what it was all about. After reading in pedipeds about how the shoes can help your childs feet I decided to give them a try. Im not sure if that helps anyone on CBB but it wasn't any paticular celeb it was just the ad! I am glad to see them still today all over in between articles! Those shoes have helped my daughter so much and they aren't any more expensive then a pair of Nikes or Stride Rites. But unlike a lot of baby shoes they aren't heavy they are lightweight and comfortable for my daughter. I didn't need a celebs baby to be wearing them for me to want to buy them. I simply took a chance on the cute little ad!

I wouldn't waste my time spending money on kids clothes or shoes when they're just going to outgrow and/or ruin them faster then they'll get there wear.
If you have the money to just fork out tons of money for your childs style then great. I'd rather put the money towards a college fund, or a family trip, or geez now a days GAS for my car!!
I really think kids can look cool and stylish without having to spend a lot of money on them (or yourself). And I have never purchased anything that's been shown on CBB nor will I probably ever. I just don't feel the need. But it doesn't mean I don't enjoy seeing the products.

I actually like seeing celebs dressing their babies like "normal" people do (eg. Violet Affleck wearing the same shoes until she outgrows them).

As for CBB, I love the website and the way you guys treat celebs, always respectfully, highlighting family life as oppose to tabloid gossip.

I love this site! I also love shopping and it's fun for me to find new brands - that being said, i always assumed you listed fashion info simply because people asked about it! Read any post where you don't list the info - inevitably, someone asks for information! I write the name of this site into every "baby shower" card I give - and every new parent loves it!! As we all know, babies are fun and CBB takes it to a whole new level!
