Xzibit's newborn son, Xavier Kingston, passes away

Tags: Health , News , Passings

Xzibitarr_jean_51618914_max_cbb Born prematurely on May 15th, rapper Xzibit's son, Xavier Kingston Joiner, unfortunately passed away today, May 26th, at 3:30 a.m.  Although the baby was receiving oxygen, his lungs were extremely underdeveloped and were unable to handle the strenuous act of breathing any longer.

Only an hour after the passing, Xzibit, 33, wrote on his Myspace page and shared that while "it is unnatural for a parent to bury a child," he has trust in God and knows that all of what happens is a part of the "perfect plan."

As you all know, I shared with you the announcement of my newborn son, Xavier Kingston Joiner, on May 15th and also informed you that he was born prematurely.  Well, this week was extremely difficult for him because his lungs were not strong enough to handle regular oxygen on his own.

Xavier passed away this morning at 3:30 a.m. and I must tell you this; it is unnatural for a parent to bury a child.  I am telling you this because of the same reason I tell you when I'm having a great time -- life is too short to be fake.  Hold on to your kids if you have them, protect them, and show them you love them every day you wake up and see them, don't take a second you get to hug them, teach them, and care for them for granted.  You can have all the material wealth in the world, but it is NOTHING compared to having your family.

I am thankful for all of my blessings and I'm not one to question God's perfect plan, so I leave you with great love and thanks for all the love that was sent earlier on my previous blog to my son.  Of course, I need to take some time and handle my loss. STAY FOCUSED PEOPLE.  It's not promised to any of us.

R.I.P Xavier May 15th 2008 - May 26th 2008.

So sad, just awful news. I can not imagine a worse thing than a parent having to bury a child, it is not the order it is supposed to go. All my deepest love and sympathy to Xzibit and family, I hope they are able to find comfort in the knowledge that Xavier's short time with them was filled with love. Just such terribly sad news.

So sad. I'll be praying for his family.

My heart goes out to his family.

"Hold on to your kids if you have them, protect them, and show them you love them every day you wake up and see them, don't take a second you get to hug them, teach them, and care for them for granted."

That just touches my heart.

Heartbreaking. A parent's worst nightmare.
I hope they will be ok. He seems to have a lot of faith and hopefully that will help him right now..

Sorry about your loss. May God give you the strength to heal. God bless.

his thoughts really get you don't they? One minute you can be so frustrated and the next you're just bawling watching them sleep and thanking your lucky stars for the blessings that you have. My heart goes out to him, he's right, it's unnatural to have to bury your child. God bless him and his family, they have a new guardian angel.

My heart hurts for him and his family, and I'm amazed at his wise and confident words. Praying that they will find healing...

My heart aches for his family. His comments really hit home. Children are a blessing. I spent 3+ months in the ICU with my preemie son before he passed away. I never thought that I would have to deal with the loss of a child, but many parents do. I will say a prayer for his little Xavier and my little boy.

This is so sad! Does anyone know how many weeks he was? He says he was a "lil premature" but with that serious of lung problems...that seems like he was really premature. I work as an RN in a NICU so I know first hand what ups and downs these poor parents go through. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

This is very sad, I can't even imagine losing a child. I wish them all the best dealing with their loss.

What a tremendous loss.

I feel so sorry for this poor man, I can't even imagine the pain of losing a child. What bothers me is that he seems less bitter because the death of his son is part of "God's perfect plan". He has every right to be angry, hurt, and destroyed inside. Why is it when things go well, everyone praises God, but when things go bad, they say it is God's will? How can the death of a baby be part of God's "plan". This man has every right to grieve.

I'm so sorry to hear about ur baby boy Xavier Kingston. I have been in ur shoes before so I understand ur pain. My heart and prayers are with you and your whole family at this time! Time will ease your pain, please be strong!

Man this is heartbreaking news, always is when a little one doesn't make it. It truly makes you thankful for what you do have. My heart truly goes out to Xzibit.

What a brave, brave man for taking the time to release his own statement. It would have been perfectly understandable for him to have his spokesperson do it.

I have a lot of time/respect for X. He's a genuine guy.

I am terrible sorry for his loss and for his girlfriend's loss.

I am sad for him... he is so right in saying it is unnatural for a parent to bury a child. It happens all too often for me. My heart goes out to Xzibit & his family during this difficult time. I pray that some day, after these dark days, they see the sun again and find peace.

We almost lost one of our kids(now 10 years old) THREE times; once before birth(due to bloodclot inbetween placenta and cervix, with massive bleeding), at birth(not breathing) and for a week after(in NICU and periods of not breathing; he was even baptised in the nursery) and then 3 years ago at age 7 with Leukemia. We came close and thought he was going to die and THAT was horrible enough; I can't even imagine if he(or any of our kids!) actually DID die. Nothing is worse than losing a child. My prayers and thoughts are with this family.
