Laila Ali bares her belly for Palmer's Tummy Butter

Laila_ali_5_cbb_2 The Celebrity Baby Blog got a sneak peek as boxer and host Laila Ali unveiled her baby belly while shooting magazine and television spots for Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula stretch mark products, including the Massage Cream for Stretch Marks, Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks and Tummy Butter. The advertising shoot took place in Brooklyn, NY, on Tuesday, June 10th, and the spots will air this fall, featuring Laila's personal experiences with Palmer's and the results she has seen throughout her pregnancy.

Laila said she has been using Palmer’s Cocoa Butter products since she was a child and likened using them to physical fitness. She said, "Just as working out every day helps keep my body fit, using Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula products on a daily basis ensures my skin stays in tip-top shape, especially throughout my pregnancy.”

The main ingredients of the products include cocoa butter, Vitamin E, collagen and elastin, to help prevent and reduce the appearance of stretch marks.

Laila, 30, expects her son -- to be named Curtis Muhammad -- the first week of September.

Palmers gave me a bad rash! I used it for 3 days and it was fine, but on the forth day I completely broke out. My obgyn said that the tummy butter is loaded with stuff, and may cause pretty bad allergic reactions. Now I stick to baby oil!

Laila looks spectacular though. A beautiful pregnant woman.

The funny thing is the smell made me feel sick. I thought it would be good, but couldn't stand the smell.

I used Vaseline intensive care (the blue one - ultra rich lotion, no scent!) and I had no stretch marks with my son and I'm prego again using the same lotion. So far so good.

I understand stecth marks are related to your genes, but it's worth a shot to prevent them.

I used Palmers stretch mark cream through out both of my pregancies. I started using it during my first trimesters. I put it on everyday in stretch mark prone areas (stomache, hips, breast) I never experienced any rash, and I also don't have any stretch marks on my stomache from either pregnancy. I can't say 100% that it was from palmers, probably a combination of that and genes.
Laila looks awsome by the way.

Stephanie, don't feel bad (I'm the same way):-)
Recent research (as in the last few months) by an American institution (don't know which, saw it in the newspapers) has shown that all these anti-stretch mark lotions and products don't prevent work. It's all genetics (unfortunately for me).

I used coca butter lotion every morning and night when I was preggers and still got stretch marks. Like someone above mentioned, it's in the genes and my mom and sisters all got stretch marks. Mine didn't show up until the very end. I was excited, I was about 7 months and still no stretch mark, then one day I noticed one....and they just spread from there. Bummer. Thanks mom! ;)

This stuff gave me a rash also!! I just kept putting more of it on, thinking it would help and the rash kept getting worse until I stopped using it.

It was because my skin couldn't breathe with this goop on it!!

a- i had mine out dec. of 06, and they are still visible on me for some reason (three of them, one has faded/blended ala camo into my stretch marks lol)..the one in my bellybutton *especially* shows. i almost died because my gallbladder was so infected, and they also missed it at first (thank you to dr. h for finding out what was up!!) so it was very much a trauma. but my stretch marks mean i held my two little earthsiders inside to slightly over/near full term, which i wouldnt trade for anything..so my stretch marks make me so happy :) as my gallbladder scars freak me out :p though i am very grateful to be here, so perhaps i should view them in a dif. light..
