Mayim Bialik Expecting Second Child

50780638_cbbjpg Blossom star Mayim Bialik is expecting another baby with husband Michael Stone, she has announced. The new arrival is due this fall, and will join big brother Milo, 2 ½. The 32-year-old, who earned her Ph.D in neuroscience in 2007, told People, "I'm working overtime being a mom, but I'd love to do a sitcom again."

I used to adore her show when I was in junior high because Blossom was not your typical super cutey, cookie cutter teen star, and I guess I could relate to that. She seems like such a cool woman, very at ease with herself. Also clearly very intelligent! I bet she is an awesome mom. Congrats!

Congratulations, Mayim! I am very happy for her! But here is the weird thing...I am currently finishing my PhD in Neuroscience, and there are no articles published by Mayim at all. As far as I know, it's not possible to get a doctorate without publishing anything. Could it be under a different name? I would love to know because I watched that show all the time as a kid and I bet we know a lot of the same people in the Neuro community.

Hooray for Mayim! I keep seeing all these "where are they now" shows on TV and no one ever seems to mention her....a PhD in Neuroscience, WOW.

Lisa Marie--This was all I could find, and it is a bit out of date

That is weird! I was just thinking about her earlier today. Wondering what she was up to. I knew about #1....freaky coincidence.

Stef, I think Lisa Marie means in professional journals. Most of the time as you study and do research you publish papers in different journals for others in your field so that typically they can review your work and expand upon your idea or attempt to prove why they disagree with your conclusions.

She was listed as being part of the UCLA neurobiology group in 2005

Blossom needs to come back on tv for another generation of girls!

Congrats! That is exciting! I too loved her show. I love love love seeing the Where are they Now article/pictures. If any of you guys check out People.com too, they have like 15 different picks of celeb kids from back in the day with updates on what they have been up to. I saw that today and they said they are putting out a Where are they Now special People issue in a couple days! I know I am grabbing that when it's out!

According to Wikipedia, as of 2006, she was completing work on her thesis, an investigation of Prader-Willi syndrome.

Lisa Marie: Perhaps her dissertation is published with her married name rather than her stage/maiden name? I find that interesting too.

Lisa Marie- maybe she published under her married name? So maybe Mayim Stone?

Wow, that's amazing. A PhD in neuroscience. I'd love to see her on television again as well.
