New Bindi Irwin doll to talk, help environment
She has a hit television show, an album, a clothing line, and now, Bindi Irwin is getting her own talking doll. Standing at 10 inches, the rubber figure will don khakis, puffy pigtails and hiking boots (much like Bindi!) and come with outdoorsy items like binoculars and a camera, plus a toy cockatoo, wombat and python. Sharing phrases such as "Crikey! Let's go help wildlife," and "You can make the world a better place," the doll will retail for $15 to $20 and hit shelves in September. A portion of proceeds from sales will help fund efforts to breed endangered species and rescue animals.
The daughter of the late Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin, Bindi turns 10 on July 24th. She is releasing the doll through Wild Republic, a division of K&M International Inc., which specializes in nature and wildlife-related toys.
